The only people it will disappoint are the ones who hoped to keep it in their rearview.
The air-cooled Thunderstroke 116 produces 162 Nm of raw torque for passing power in all 6 gears, giving you the power to leave everything—and everyone—in your exhaust.
Practical design means cutting no corners. Built for anything with saddlebags, wire wheels, windshield, and floorboards standard.
The 4″ touchscreen maintains a classic aesthetic by disguising itself as an analog gauge. Use it as a speedo and a tach, but it also provides turn-by-turn navigation, controls ride modes, lets you answer and decline calls, and manage your music from any Bluetooth-connected device.
Classic style meets modern capability and a long list of premium features with the Super Chief Limited.
Premium chrome finishes, fork covers, wire wheels, a large headlight nacelle, and iconic Indian Motorcycle script badging on the tank.
Floordboards, traditional cruiser handlebars, and a two-up touring seat come standard to guarantee a comfortable riding position.
Standard saddlebags let you extend your trips, and a quick-release windshield comes off effortlessly for a totally different look and feel.
Everything you need for the adventure ahead.
Choose between three ride modes — Tour, Standard, and Sport — for an experience that’s tailored to your riding style.
Full LED lighting provides great visibility to the road ahead.
Off the line, every Super Chief Limited comes with keyless ignition, USB charging port, cruise control, ABS, and super-sticky Pirelli Night Dragon tires.
All the 116-equipped models have throttle-by-wire, cruise control, ABS, and rear-cylinder deactivation as standard, while their higher-level finishes and details are meant to sell the more premium feel. Indian’s Ride Command system is also included, on what the firm is touting as an “industry-first ‘4 Inch Round Display,’” which shows bike and ride information like RPM, gear, trip meters, navigation, weather, audio information from bluetooth devices and more with operation through grip controls or via the digital IPS touchscreen. Featuring 3 selectable rider modes for all types of weathers, keyless ignition fobs, USB charging ports, 12v lighter port, rear cylinder deactivation for lower temps in traffic and more!

1921 marked the debut of the Indian Motorcycle Chief. Designed by the legendary Charles Franklin, the dirt track racer and engineer who also dreamed up the Scout, the Chief had a 61-cubic-inch V-twin, dual cams, a low seat, and graceful lines. Riders loved its reliable power, formidable torque, and agile frame, and the bike quickly gained fans around the world. In the 1940s, the Chief helped fuel the postwar era of bike racing and customization in America.
For its’ 100th anniversary, one of America’s most iconic bikes has been completely reimagined by America’s first motorcycle company. The new Chief is the perfect blend of old and new — a timeless design supplemented with modern technology and performance, and zero compromises. It retains its classic compact stance, simple steel frame, and 64-inch wheelbase. With the Chief’s timeless design, dedication to Indian Motorcycle’s legendary past, and unobtrusive modern technology, the only people it will disappoint are the ones who hoped to keep it in their rearview.
